The Clarion: West Virginia Hospitality

Once again the Clarion Hotel in Harpers Ferry will be the center of the event for 2020. The Clarion has been our host partner for the the past several years offering the largest facility and most accommodations near our end point in Harpers Ferry. We recommend you take advantage of the discounted event hotel rate of $89 and stay the two nights of 2/7 and 2/8. Make your reservations as soon as possible as we expect a capacity crowd.

The Clarion: The Center of the Action

The hotel and conference center is located a few miles from the finish line and near the center of the town of Harpers Ferry. Check in on Friday, February 7, 2020, get information, and meet other fellow walkers and our support team. Enjoy an early evening, pre-event day buffet dinner in the dining area, available for all registrants, whether you are stay here or not.

Hotel guests and other participants will be bussed early Saturday morning from the hotel to the starting line in Potomac, MD.

The post-event celebration meal and party is offered at the end of the event on Saturday February 8th. Whether you are staying or leaving, relax, recover and enjoy the company and stories of your fellow walkers. There’s a bus that will be leave from the Clarion late Saturday to Potomac for anyone needing a ride back to the start in Potomac.

We have secured a daily discount rate of $89 per night for February 7 & 8. To get the discount be sure to mention “50 Mile Kennedy Walk” when reserving your room. Standard rooms are non-smoking with two queen beds.

There are several B&B’s in the Harpers Ferry area. Other hotels that are within a few miles of the event in the Charlestown area. Consider the possibilities of an off-season vacation rental via airbnb.com or vrbo.com. For a very different experience, visit the National Park Service where you can rent a historic lockhouse for your stay under the Canal Quarters program.
